Architectural design -Intervention pavilion

For this project we had to design a small light weight pavilion for temporary use.

We are to â€˜celebrate the move to new university  campus’.  The  pavilion  should  offer  only  a  visual  shelter  and  the  possibility  for  small  information place.

IPT Architects creates rib cage-like pavilion using wooden frames

  • Made from sheets of oriented strand board

  • And untreated mild steel

  • Sense of tranquillity, beauty and mysteriousness

  • Self-supporting structure

  • Creates ever-changing shadows according to the movement of the sun

Carmody Groarke creates Regents Place Pavilion

  • Created by a field of steel rods

  • You can remove groups of the rod structure, to create a seating area

  • Sense of simplicity,

elegance and

sophistication

Thilo Frank creates EKKO

  • Twisted pavilion

  • Concrete paving creates a pathway

  • Wooden frames with different measurements provide the twisted structure surrounding it

  • Light enters the structure though the gaps between frames

Also like Carmody Groarke’s Regent Place Pavilion the daylight creates different patterns
